Q: is my hip replacement going to get loose now that I have osteoporosis? I developed osteopenia after chemo which was 4 years after my hip was done?

Hi kauaicharm, welcome...I don't think your hip implant will be compromised by your bone loss, but if you are worried about it, have your Dr. check it out.  If he/she agrees you could have an x-ray of your hip to see how the hardware is doing or some other test your Dr might recommend.  I don't see any reason why you couldn't have it checked out to put your mind at ease, so ask about it and see what you find out.  At least you'll learn something and hopefully that there's nothing to worry about.

 

So sorry you had cancer and that it led to chemo and bone loss, but we hope you are doing better now!
