Other Causes/ Osteoporsis

I know that Diet and Exercise are important - and Calcium and Vitamin D - etc ... But I did all of that  - and still ended up with serious Osteoporisis..  ( -4 ).. Recently learned - that I have CELIAC DISEASE ..and one of the Major side effects ...is Osteoporsis !!!  Please - check with your Doctor about this - if you do... Read moreChevron

Newly diagnosed

I've recently been diagnosed with Osteopenia and I was in shock. I have small bones and or was 5' 1 1/2" so I therefore take a large amount of calcium/magnesium 2000mg. to be as preventive as possible. I am on the treadmill everyother day and eat well. Extreme dryness of mouth, eyes, skin

Is dryness of the mouth etc. another Forteo side effect?  Also dry brittle fingernails that break off at the fingertips?  I have been on Forteo now for 9 months.Maxine

Dexa scores

My T-scores range from -1.65 in L1 to -3.18 in L4.  I assume that one has to look at this from the "worst link in the chain" perspective, rather than the average.  I am also assuming that osteoporosis can affect individual vertebra more or less than others.  I read somewhere on another site, that readings for some of... Read moreChevron
