Popular Osteoporosis Drug Fosamax Linked to Heart Problems (Atrial Fibrillation)

Women who have used Fosamax (alendronate), a popular osteoporosis medication, are nearly twice as likely to develop chronically irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) than are those who have never used it, according to a study published in the April 28, 2008 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.
