A new study has shown that one bone mineral density (BMD) test can accurately predict a woman's chance of spinal fractures 15 years down the line. Researchers say their finding suggests that women ages 50 years to 64 years of age should consider having a bone density test if they want to know their BMD before age 65, the age when medical guidelines say women should be given the test.
