A reader wants to know if it's possible to get adequate calcium
through diet alone, rather than by taking a mineral supplement.
According to Dr. Peter Gott, diet is always important, but he
suggests that people who have osteopenia take a calcium supplement
that contains vitamin D in order to slow the process of bone loss.
