Researchers in Alabama say that altering a single gene could help
boost bone density. The recent study showed that disrupting a gene
called Pten in the bone cells of mice resulted in dramatically
increased bone density. The researchers hope this discovery leads
to new drugs for osteoporosis and bone fractures.
