Altering a single gene could rebuild bone

Researchers in Alabama say that altering a single gene could help boost bone density. The recent study showed that disrupting a gene called Pten in the bone cells of mice resulted in dramatically increased bone density. The researchers hope this discovery leads to new drugs for osteoporosis and bone fractures. Read more »
