New Osteoporosis Test

A Canadian company is working to design a device called a "mechanical response tissue analyzer" or MRTA that could help diagnose osteoporosis. Today, the best test for this purpose is dual energy x-ray absorptiometry or DXA. The producers say the new machine would measure both bone toughness and elasticity and could be available within five years.
