A new study has found that vitamin K does not slow bone loss in postmenopausal women, but it may help them avoid fractures and cancer if they suffer from the early form of osteoporosis known as osteopenia. Canadian scientists followed the progress of 440 postmenopausal women with osteopenia for two years. Some of the women were given a daily dose of vitamin K while others were given a daily placebo.
