Marijuana may prevent osteoporosis

Researchers studying the effect of marijuana on bones say that while it may weaken bones early in life, it could prevent against osteoporosis later. Scientists at the University of Edinburgh found that the drug activated a molecule that decreased bone loss in older mice, and prevented against the formation of fat in bone cells that is known to occur in osteoporosis patients.  Read full story >
