Lack of vitamin K linked to aging, bone loss

Researchers say that low levels of vitamin K may contribute to bone fragility and heart disease. Researchers in California analyzed data from hundreds of published articles dating back to the 1970s, and they found that the current level of vitamin K recommended daily is likely not enough to support non-clotting body functions. Experts say vitamin K can be found naturally in green leafy vegetables such as spinach and Swiss chard, but they point out that levels of the vitamin in supplements may not be enough.
