Patients who take drugs in the class known as thiazolidinediones, such as Actos and Avandia, may be at increased risk of bone fractures, experts say. Researchers in London compared data on patients who had suffered a fracture and found that those on thiazolidinediones had 1.5 times as many fractures while they were taking the drugs as when they were not taking the medications.
