Wrist fracture patients may be overlooked

Men and women who break a wrist are less likely to be evaluated for osteoporosis than patients who break a hip or spine, a study says. Korean researchers found that over a quarter of hip and spine fracture patients were given bone scans, while only eight percent of wrist fracture patients had the same test. Experts say this could mean that some osteoporosis patients are not receiving beneficial early treatment.  Read full story >
