Soy foods may prevent hip fractures

Soy foods may help postmenopausal women avoid hip fractures, a new study suggests. Scientists in Singapore found that women who ate a moderate amount of soy--the equivalent of around 2 ounces of tofu--were 21 to 36 percent less likely to fracture a hip. Moderate soy intake was associated with a reduced fracture rate among women, but not men, researchers found.  Read full story >
