Vitamin D Needs Calcium to Reduce Fracture Risk

A new study has found that pairing vitamin D with calcium is the best way to stave off fractures. The assessment, which included data on 68,517 patients in seven studies, found that vitamin D alone did not reduce fracture risk at all. Those who took a combination of the nutrients, however, lowered their overall fracture risk by 8 percent, and their hip fracture risk by 16 percent.
