QUESTION: Osteopenia Causes
I have been diagnosed with osteopenia. I have taken Synthroid for the last 40 years (l mg and then reduced to .75 mg) for an underactive thyroid. Nine years ago I had a craniotomy for a benign ependymoma. I had 32 radiation treatments of the head, thoracic spine, lumbar spine and cervical spine. Do you think that the radiation after the craniotomy or the length of time that I've been on Synthroid might have something to do with my diagnosis of osteopenia?
