Dyazide is absorbed more effectively when it is taken with meals, especially if the food is a little high in fat.

Because of its potassium-sparing effects, avoid using a potassium-based salt substitute on your food. This could lead to a dangerous overload of the mineral.

Likewise, potassium supplements should be avoided unless specifically recommended by your physician.

Periodic blood tests are crucial to monitor potassium levels in the body.
