ABOUT ME:

I am married and a mother of four and five year old boys. I live in central Alaska. I also have Type I Diabetes, which may or may not complicate the migraines. I began having migraines at the age of 15 and they have become more frequent and severe over the years. They made a considerable jump after having my second son. This month (12/08) I have had three migraines, far more frequent than ever. Also, the second migraine was the worst I have ever had. It lasted five hours. The first two hours were excrutiating pain behind my eyes, top of my head and the very lower back portion of my head. I was nauseated, but never threw up. As it subsided in the third hour, my arms and legs went numb, and were difficult to move. I also had a sensation, that I can only describe, as like a nightmare, where you are unable to scream when something terrifying is occuring. It took alot of effort to just moan. Then, it felt like I blacked out. My husband said I looked dead, and he kept checking my breathing. My fear, is that they will continue to grow in intensity and severity. I do not want to be unable to care for my family. I hope to find a solution to my problem, and hope it doesn't end up being something far more terrifying, like a tumor or strokes.
