nearly 3 years ago i found a really great migraine doctor, whos worked very hard to help me. we've made great progress. i've gone from spending most days in bed, to only having a few migraines a month.

too bad my progress wasnt enough to save my job. i was let go on nov. 5. however they did me a favor. i've felt 100% better since getting out of that...

another night with the doctor from #$**

well i just spent a few hours with the doctor who i believe is the devils twin brother.

i know that there are times that my mirgaines are frequent, but when it puts me on my knees, and my meds won't stay down it's time for help.

last time i saw him, he accused me of being addicted to my meds..... yeah ok, which is WHY i try NOT to take them...... he also has stated that my problem comes from marital problems ( yeah i have that...

my invisible illness

1. the illness i live with is chronic migraines, ulcers, and arthritis
2. i was diagnosed in 1991 at the age of 16
3. but i have had symptoms for as long as i can remember around age 8 or so
4. the biggest adjustment i've had to make is learning to put my needs first, if i'm in pain i go to bed, simple as that
5. most people assume that because i work and go to school i am in great health.... if they only knew
6. the hardest part about...

nerve blocks... the day after

so i went yesterday for my nerve blocks. wasn't bad, even though i had a migraine that morning, my migraine doctor had me go go to my regular doctor to get a shot before i went..... he wanted me comfortable before we started.

it took less than 30 minutes. quick little stick and a burn, and aside from being really sore today ( i'm supposed to rest and take my muscle relaxers today) i'm good. had a small headache, but meds have taken care...

my appt with the migraine specialist

so i finally had my appt with the migraine specialist. and OMG it was totally different than ANY other appt i've ever had.

as i walked in with the nurse he was in the hall watching me, and observed me sitting in a chair reading for 5 minute or so before he came in the room. started with a normal chat, do i like to read? i said yes, then he looked at me and told me from what he sees this is his guess. the pain starts in the back of my...

just when you think bad can't get any worse

ok, so i managed to get through christams without any major problems. boss playing with my schedule. i tried to warn him as to what would happen, but he just wouldn't listen. so last sunday morning i left work in tears from the pain. i managed to drive home, and my husband took me to the ER. doctor figured since we had a cold front come through the night before that it was a sinus induced migraine, gave me a shot and sent me home. 8 hours later...

6 weeks out and doing great

well it has been a little over 6 weeks since my sinus surgery. to date i've had only 1 migraine since then. and that was after throwing a major temper fit.

for the most part i feel great. still dealing with some sinus headache ( i know it's sinus as it feels totally different from a migraine) but the doctor told me that is normal until all the sweeling is gone ( a few more weeks)

FIRST ONE SINCE SURGERY

last night my daughter broke the only thing i got when my grandma died. my grandmother raised me, so this was doubly hard. and needless to say i had a meltdown over it.

this morning i woke up feeling like my head is going to bust open, the light is killing me, and i've puked 3 times already, and i haven't been up an hour and a half yet.

soon as the dortors office opens i will be heading there. god love my nephew, he is going to...

recovery from surgery has been slow

my recovery from sinus surgery has been very slow. i've had a headache almost daily, but it isn't a migraine ( thank god). after the first week i started with passing the clots, which is very painful. i went back to work after 2 weeks. had to go home the first day back because my head hurt so bad. and the next 3 days i dealt with pain and the clots.

i had a good day on sunday, but yesterday i started with clots and bleeding out the...
