Hi, I experienced my first major BP episode when I was 18 years old, being young and anxious to get out into the world I dismissed the experience. It wasn't until I was 31 that I finally sought out some professional help which included treatment in the way of psychotherapy and Lithium. Of course only after years of mood swings and other psychotic episodes in what can only be described as an insane roller coaster ride.
I convinced myself that all was well... at least until recently when at 47 I found myself on a fast spiral. I felt my mind rapidly going out of control. This frightened my to an extreme and I sought out professional help. I am stabilizing now, however I have come to realize that it is time for me to reach out to others in our circumstance to better understand and perhaps better cope.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and hopefully learn something from each other along the way.
