Willy Loman, Nutrients & a Cure For ADD?

It doesn't matter what virus, disease, handicap or challenge people face, there is a constant medical and scientific quest to find a cure for whatever challenges the human condition. This holds true for ADD/ADHD as well. I'm not a doctor, but I sure have dedicated a lot of time and effort over the last eight years into learning, understanding and winning my battle against ADD.

Recently, I just may have stumbled across what I call my own...

ADD Prejudice in the Workplace

Back in December (yes...it was so long ago, the good old days), I posted on my blog an article entitled Coming Out of the ADD Closet Professionally. I still applaud the organization that I interviewed with for a great job and how they approached my ADD. I gained so much confidence in going public with ADD; now I spread the word that times they are a-changin!!! (Note to readers: pretend to sing like Bob Dylan when you read "times they are...

My ADD Concerta Experience

Ah yes, the never ending debate of medicating, over-medicating, under-medicating and misdiagnosing ADD/ADHD. For me, I'd have to say it was just right. I was on Concerta for a couple of years and benefited from being on it. However, the phrase "pills don't teach skills" is one of the most accurate and impactful statements I have heard during my period of work in dealing with ADD.

It took a while for me to understand and truly grasp the...

ADD and the Right Work Environment

For the millions of people with ADD/ADHD, a common struggle is finding the right working environment for them. Now let's face the cold reality of the economic world we live in: it's not exactly an ideal time to pick and choose the job that is best for our individual needs. Heck, many people are just happy to have a job right now. However, the processes of choosing the right work environment is a lot more important than you think, especially for...

ADD & Looking in the Mirror

In my years of real-life experience in learning to manage and overcome Adult ADD, one of the steps that has proven to be beneficial is looking at myself in the mirror, figuratively speaking. I don't need to look in the mirror literally, I see enough literal reminders every morning after my shower of my receding hairline and what are supposed to be distinguished wrinkle lines of experience - also known as crow's feet around my eyes...
