When is too much medication

When do you know if you are taking too much medication? Until Tuesday of this week I was on the Fentanal Patch 75mg., Avinza 30 mg. two time per day and Percocet as needed for break through pain; to my dismay no pain relief. After my visit with my pain management doctor he placed me on OpanaEr 40 mg. Two times per day and still take the Fentanal Patch. I also had the first of a series of three blocks on Wed. I understand that I still will be in...

Medication

I am currently taking, avinza 30mg twice a day, percocet 750/325 4 per day, and fentanal patches 75 mg. I know that this sounds like a lot of pain medicine but I am thinking about asking the dr. to change the Avinza to a stronger dose since my pain is just not letting up. I know that I will never be pain free but would like for it to be bearable at least. Are there any new medication out there that I might look into. I have taken just...

what a day

How can you be feeling pretty good for a few days and then wham out of the blue the pain comes back with a vengence!! I have really been suffering today and am finally going to get to go home after work. I try to be upbeat but man it is so hard sometimes. Some times you think that you have this think licked and it slaps you in the face again. Please pray for me tonight so that I can get some rest. J

Good Morning!

Hi, I am still new to this website. What a morning all ready! Forgot my morning pain meds and had to turn around and go back home to get them. Called one of my bosses and told him the situation and I said that he did not want me here without my morning medication. I have experienced the withdrawal symtoms one time and that was enought. Like most of you I take a huge amount of medicine just to keep me functioning. I would...

Any information on Avinza

Anyone have experience with Avinza. At my suggestion my pain mgmt. doctor is weaning me off of the fentanal patches and is prescribing me the Avinza which I think will work better for me. I am tired of these patches. Thanks in advance for your response.

Anyone out there have experience with the fentanal patches? I have used them for several months but do not know if they help me or not. I am scared to stop using them because of increased pain. Hope to hear from you.

How did I get here?

Well, where do I start. I was what I thought a healthy 46 year old women until October of 2006 when I had excruiating pain in my hips. Come to find out I have severe degenerative disc disease. Hip pain turned into chronic left leg pain. First surgery to stop the leg pain worked but then I started suffering from low back pain. Second surgery 8 months later cleaned up scar tissue and fragments did not help. Started pain management a little over a...
