ABOUT ME:

I was diagnosed in March 2008 with a small cancer in my left breast. This was found with a routine Mammogram that I had scheduled before my next visit to my doctor. One surgeon wanted to do just a lumpectomy, but explained that I would have to go through Chemo and radiation. I did not want that. I made the decision to go for a double mastectomy and reconstruction because I have had 4 scares with this left breast in the past 10 years and there is a history of cancer in a lot of my cousins. I underwent this surgery in May 15, 2008 and then 4 month later the tissue expanders were removed and the implants put in. I am so happy I made this decision. I now have beautiful cancer free perky boobs !! I am on femara, I tried Tamoxifen , but I could not tolerate it. I just had a bone scan today because my calcium level is too high and my Dr wanted to get it checked. I don't have the results yet. Update : 2/5/2009--I am completely finished with everything and cancer free with nice new breasts with new nipples and tattooed areola. I have done great with no complications at all. I am so thankful to have had all of the best Doctors and GOD on my side !
