We have several different types of mental illness in my family. Most of which tries to remain invisible. Having grown up with a sibling with bipolar, the symptoms in my own child seem obvious to me. They do not, however, seem to exist in most of the pediatric medical community. After several failed attempts to treat my son with medication for depression, we have taken him off altogether as the symptoms worsened. Frustration doesn't begin to describe the emotion felt by everyone in this household. Thanks for reading...
