Brain damage & postheadache syndrome

I was wondering if I was imagining or actually having the "post" symptoms. But after reading both articles,(which described me to a "T"). I have trouble with memory, balance, and vision changes, not for the bettter. While I can't be sure this is the migraine or good old genetics kicking in. This last 4+ month bender, has really put me in a backslide. Thank you for the relief I got after reading these articles.

Medicinal Compounds

I have found over the years, through allergic reactions, urticaria, nausea and vomiting, dislocating jaws, passing out, and generally missing out on a good portion of my life. Migraine meds and the doctors who prescribe them are not the, "know it alls", I was taught. That said, I have been working with a pain specialist and my physician here in Arizona. We have come up with "compounding medicines". These...

Symptoms Evolving/Triggers

I've noticed through the years that not only is barometric pressure one of my triggers but wind is especially horrific for me. The equinox, summer/winter also has me in a dither, a week or so prior/post I may be restless, energetic, short tempered, sleep quality affected. Of course, I head for my room and hibernate. I have also noticed during these episodes I will start rubbing my scalp (possibly decreased sensation,...

Treat/Not to Treat & Other ER Horrors

Happy Spring to all, & may you be pain-free!Yesterday, home alone, I was very ill, went to the bathroom for the commode fest, started choking on emesis, couldn't get a breath/vaso-vagal, and loss consciousness for an unknown time. Woke up choking and still vomiting very forcefully! When I looked in the mirror, there were tiny venoules & capillaries that had burst around my eyes,(petechiae). My...

Nausea Aids

I have found not only peppermint works, but ginger chews. Little gels that can be chewed or dissolved in hot water and drank can help the nausea. I usually get them at a chinese market, inexpensive, but places like Trader Joes and other spots have them.

Help Please/Chronic Trigger

One of my migraine triggers is lack of sleep or chronic interuptted sleep. For the past 3 years our neighbors had a Scottish terrier, that was lonely and barked/yapped all the time. They got him a companion, he taught him to bark/yap incessantly, at even a falling leaf, day or night. Regardless of whether they are home or not. They seem to ignore or don't hear them. We are very rural and sound...

Sunglass

Hi All,I've found not only good sunglasses but I've taken it one step further, by putting a sleep mask inside the sunglasses which anchor it and can wrap around for better coverage. I also carry ear plugs, and of course the ever present "barf baggie" for the inevitable "porcelain worship fest". I carry these in my purse and especially for use in the ER. Since my husband drives and guides...
