ABOUT ME:

I was diagnosed with RA almost 2 years ago. Everything seemed to just fall apart. I had lost a lot of weight by following the Body for Life program, and it worked, I lost 191 lbs. in 18 mths. I started gaining a little and yet was doing the same thing. The doctor found out I had a thyroid problem and the treated me with radioactive iodine to kill my thyroid. I went into a downward spiral of depression, gaining weight, joint pain, etc. I tried to get back into my excercise routine and noticed I was having severe knee pain whenever I worked out, doctor did more blood work to find out I have RA. I have gained all my weight back plus some, hurt so bad daily there times that I can't hardly walk, even with the assistance of a cane. I am so frustrated I can't stand it. I haven't been able to find anything that helps but staying down and keeping legs up. I know this is not the answer, I know I must stay active, but it hurts so bad that to make it through a day at work completely mentally and physically exhausts me. My doctors want me to have the lap band procedure by my insurance won't cover it. I haven't been able to find anyone that can help me have the procedure yet make it affordable on my very low income. I try to stay positive, but at 39 I feel like I am a 100 yrs old, and in very bad shape at that. I wish I could come out of the hole and get back to myself. I feel "myself" is going to be something of the past, and my future is only going to be filled with pain. I would love to have any ideas, opinions, etc that might help me. Thank you in advance.
