ABOUT ME:

I have been experiencing the symptoms of RA (mainly in my hands) for about five months now. In 2007 I had a herniated disc in my lower back, and have pretty much felt like crap most of the time since then. I saw a Rheumatologist in early March this year and he diagnosed me as "Fibromyalgia". We didn't exactly see eye to eye- he had a "God Complex" and I was looking more for a Rheumy who wanted to "partner" with me in my care. I went back to the drawing board in late March and got an appointment with a new Rheumy, and she is fantastic! She diagnosed me with RA and started me on Methotrexate (with a 1mg per day dose of Folic Acid). I've only had one dose of the Methotrexate, but already I feel so much better! I can actually get out bed right away when the alarm goes off in the morning- I don't have to go home after working all day and crawl right into bed- needless to say, things are looking up! I'm glad to be part of this website- already I've seen some posts that have been extremely helpful to me!
