ABOUT ME:

I ignored medical advice to avoid pregnancy, and had six kids. I'll never regret it--they're wonderful people, my darlings (and have given me excellent sons- and daughter-in law) --but it obviously exacerbated my problems. My creativity found me making everything for them, from underwear to coats, along with toys and dolls, beautiful birthday cakes, gingerbread houses, quilts, etc. Played a mean piano and church organ, wrote and directed community plays, etc... Now my creative side must be satisfied with beading little boxes (see http://ckoriginals.wordpress.com/ and/or www.carriekilgore.etsy.com ) which my daughter has decided to share with the world. After publishing 6 short stories (one per child) I started writing a novel, and am looking forward to continuing that project once I'm through my current series of back operations. My 3rd husband, the amazing Dennis, is my rock and comfort. So I'm disabled and deal with constant pain...life is still good!! Of course, since having polio at age 3, I don't remember anything else. I can't just push through the pain anymore, like I did before, so the limitations become more pronounced, but at 56, I'm joyously heading into my second half-century...and hoping for a third...
