DRUGS I AM TAKING:
Being a woman can be a pain in the back. I should know because my back and leg pain began 9 years ago. The first two years were really rough. I had three epidurals, a year of physical therapy, and when I saw the image of my spine, I cried. I knew the two herniated discs would change my life forever. Eventually, pain became my doorway to transformation and discovery. I discovered that not only was I in pain, I was a WOMAN in pain. In this discovery, I found a missing link to recovery, gender-specific treatment. Now, there is a growing body of evidence in the medical literature that points to specific solutions for women. After years of gathering the information my first book, High Heels to Hormones: A Woman's Guide to Spine Care, was born. This book fills the gap left by gender-generic advice that has not kept up with the reality of gender differences in the spine. High Heels to Hormones addresses the gender differences and puts you on the road to spine health. For over ten years since graduating with honors from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, I have guided people through the maze and roadblocks of chronic painful conditions. My practice in Northern California has become a valuable asset to my hometown. But, practicing in a clinic is confining because I can only see one patient at a time. By branching out onto the internet and publishing a book, my hope is to improve spine health and relieve pain beyond the borders of physical location.
