I'm a 50 something widow (lost husband last year) with bp living with a 25 year old son bp. I was dx'd about 4-5 years ago after a suicide attempt and he's been dx'd since his teens.
I manage my disorder by taking my meds everyday, staying informed and keeping a daily insight to my thoughts and feelings.
My son does not take an interest in his own bp until he does something so terrible (he's on his 3rd DUI) that he has to try to start again and goes back to therapy and drug therapy. He works and keeps a job for a year or 2 but then passive-aggressively loses his job (lateness, days off, etc.). He also has problems with alcoholism (obviously with 3 DUIs) We have no bus system so he is constantly living just below the legal law even though he now has his license again but for how long who knows? Otherwise, he's a good kid and tries to have good values but he refuses to admit to his mood changes and I have to point them out.
Very stressful life for me to say the least.
That's all for now.
