Risperdal seems to cause aggression

Has anyone else found Risperdal to cause aggressive behaviors in a child? My son is going to be 6 years old this month. He's bipolar with ADHD and has been mostly stable since we added lithium to his regimen of Seroquel, Risperdal and Vyvanse back in March. Our unsolved problem was his terrible aggression in the mornings and evenings when his stimulant wasn't in effect.

A couple weeks ago I accidently ran out of Risperdal and he missed...

Parenting a child with early onset bipolar and ADHD

Why does every task have to be so utterly painful? My 5.5 year old son just can't get through the morning routine - ever! We perform the same tasks every morning getting ready for Kindergarten, but he resists me every day just the same.

He won't get up much more than half an hour before the bus comes
He fights taking his medicine, throwing it on the floor half the time (then I'm in a mad rush to find them before the dog does)
He runs...

autistic-like symptoms

Tomorrow the school is having their autism consultant observe my son. I'm very excited for her comments because he has some social problems that seem similar to autistic spectrum kids. He becomes fixated on something and will completely shutdown (possibly have a rage) if he can't have it. When they do group activities at preschool and he doesn't get the color green (his favorite), he'll absolutely refuse to participate and will...

Preschooler with bipolar

Is there anyone out there who has a preschool age bipolar child? I feel like my family's all alone in this. I'm on a mission to find some friends going through the same stressful situations. The behavioral pediatrician who sees my son told me the other day that he was just speaking of my son the night before in his conference. I think that means we're a memorable case to him - great. I just need to "vent" to someone who...
