DRUGS I AM TAKING:
I am the mother of three sons, Rob (14), Jeremy (11), and Duncan (7). My husband, Dan, and I enjoy the wonderful, chaotic lifestyle that living with a triad of boys brings.
On New Year's Eve 2008, our family hit a hurdle: Rob was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Now, we as a family all try to work together to navigate these new, often churning, waters of life as a parent/brother/person with Type 1 Diabetes. Some days are easier than others.
Our family lives outside of Washington, DC in Northern Virginia, along with our two cats, dog, gecko, fish and a frog.
In my free time, I work in marketing, typically with small businesses. I currently head up the marketing efforts for an innovative, pay-as-you-go medical practice that offers its patients 24/7 access to its medical team by phone, email or in person. It is this team, specifically Dr. Dappen and Dr. Simmons, that helped us through those first tough hours of the Type 1 diagnosis.
I also serve as an adjunct professor in business and marketing at the Northern Virginia Community College.
I originally hail from Pittsburgh. I received my undergraduate degree from Penn State in English and earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
