ABOUT ME:
I am a seventh grade science teacher in the suburbs of Chicago, but I will forever be a southern girl at heart. I moved here last summer from Georgia.
I get migraines that start in the back of my neck 4-5 days each week. Once or twice a week, I can deal with the pain and just treat them with Aleve, but most other times, I have to take my Imitrex. My common symtoms are the head and neck pain, as well as nausea, plus light and sound sensitivity. I will be going in for a Occiptal Nerve Block in hopes that this is the cause of the pain. I have also been advised to stop both my aleve and Imitrex for the next THREE months, which is seriously freaking me out. Hopefully, though, it will work and help immensely. I am treated at a teaching hospital by a neurologist who not only works in the office, but is also a professor, so he is on top of the latest research. He was able to identify sources of pain that my last neuro never questioned (I recently moved). I remain hopeful.
