ABOUT ME:

I am a patient advocate. I lead/facilitate support groups for Fibromyalgia (FM) and NAMI Connections. I’m working on a line of ICI Awareness Jewelry. I blog for fun about fashion on My3FBlog: Form Follows Function, and about politics and culture on The Truth Shall Make You Free. I have a website under construction at TheICIExperience dot org. I find blogging about living with ICI to be very rewarding, very therapeutic, and I hope what I write about may help others in similar situations. I've learned that writing about our illness actually predates words: the cave people drew on cave walls about sickness. It's a very old and time-honored tradition. It's just the medium that's new. I was diagnosed with FM and Endometriosis (Endo) in 1989. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis and bulging discs in 2007. I also have IBS, multiple food allergies, Dysthymia and TMJ Disorder. On my life before CI took over: I have a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. My work experience includes administrative and office management, university level academic advising, sales of sewing machines and accessories, and restaurant management.
