This is who I am.... a 30 something female, who was diagnosed on her 27th b-day. Yep, I was diagnosed ON my birthday. I have 2 beautiful kids, one of them is graduating college with me (May 2012) and the other is currently a Junior in high school, a wonderful loving husband (who only gives me 5 minutes of a breakdown when needed then makes me laugh), an Old English Sheepdog (my baby who will lick you to death), and lots of family and friends. My original Neuro (from California) believes I have had MS since the age of 12 (after reviewing my medical records of 20 + years). I moved from Southern California to Northern Indiana in 2007, and that was the best thing my family ever did. I am stubborn and will continue to remain an overactive Type-A person who does entirely too much, but loves every minute of it. I have found out that my lumbar discs have disintegrated due to all the falling down stairs I have done. I have also found out that I am currently not a candidate for any type of surgery, save for a possible pain pump. I am going to be seen at IU pain center sometime in the coming months and am hopeful they can help me. I cannot continue just increasing the amount of narcotic pain medication I take on a daily basis. Narcotics plus MS are not a good combination when attending school full time and trying to be a decent participant in my family's life.
