I am a mother of two mostly grown girls, one 23 and the other 16 to 17 this year. I homeschooled both girls. I am married to Robert my husband of 25 years this month.
I get migraines, I have learned, monthly. It is like a cycle occuring every 28 days. I get motion sickness as well and sometimes is a precurser to migraines. I noticed when traveling going from one elevation say 5000 feet to the valley floor say 1000 feet. There is a lot of elevation differences in California. Where I live in Susanville, CA, elevation is 4250 ft. When traveling over the Sierras to the valley, it goes up to about 5500 ft. The migraines began at steady intervals after my last daughter was born in the 1991. When I feel the undercurrents of a migraine coming on I try to stay away from triggers such a cigarette smoke, bbq grill smoke, and doing a lot of lifting. I do take Imitrex when I know I cannot stay away the triggers. My husband smokes outside but when I talk to him at time it is overpowering. I usually take a aspirin-acetominophen combination just prior, also and this seems to help.
I really like this website. It has a lot of helpful insights and suggestions.
I like Teri Robert's column, I knew from when she was on about.com
Thanks for just letting me know I have a place where I can go for help and suggestions.
