Self accomodations and making life easier

Hi-- I haven't dropped in for a while. I have been preoccupied by physical challenges related to a neck injury. It is difficult to cope with taking two ADHD meds plus muscle relaxants and neurontin. I am often tempted not to take all of them which in the long run is self-destructive. The good news is that I no longer have world class dry mouth from Adderal XR or any other bothersome side effects. I think it would be helpful to begin to...

Doing Much Better

I am doing much better. This is the first day I have felt really good. I am now taking some additional medication prescribed by the neurologist. I am taking Robaxin and an increased dose of Neurontin. I also went back on Klonopin. All of this is for the muscle spasms and tics.

When I am not distracted by these other symptoms I can concentrate a lot better. Also I no longer have the dry mouth and the other side effects of the...

Living with it 2.0

I didn't mention (because I have always been hard on myself) that part of the reason that my ADHD is worse is that I am also more distracted by other disabilities such as my eyesight, chronic pain, and neuropathy. No I do not a progressive neurological disability.

I try to compensate by being mindful. But I have still piled up cuts and bruises from bumping into the furniture. Since increasing the Adderal from 20 mg QAM to an additonal 10 mg Q...

chaos and disorganization

I am going to start blogging here on this subject. My house is a mess. My affairs are chaotic. This has not always been the case. I managed to complete college and grad school with excellent grades. I have also been continuously employed after I learned the required social, organizational, and political skills required. Although I am now out on leave for physical disabilities. Although I'll admit to a messy desk and being hyper and impulsive at...

Vocal tics and muscle spasms

My ADHD is well controlled on Adderal and Tenex. Now I have vocal tics and muscle spasms. People say I sound like Stephen Hawking. Does speech therapy and muscle relaxants work. The docs think tics and adhd are related.
