ABOUT ME:
For as long as I can remember I have always suffered with some type of pain, but after having my twins in 1972 all I remember is the level of pain increasing so much so that I couldn't think straight. I experienced dizzy spells and black outs that could not be explained. This went on for years! I would push myself to work and care for my children - always to the point of exhaustion. No one ever understood what it felt like and I couldn't explain it well enough to anyone!
I even remember being diagnosed with mono when I was in my mid-20's. In my 30's I was involved in a car accident in that partially paralyzed me and I was unable to work for 4 years. Over a period of 5-6 years I had three back surgeries that did not improve my ability to walk, pain level or ability to even sit up for long. I have never been able to sleep longer than than 3-4 hours since I was a teen. However, after having a total abdominal hystorectomy my life has NEVER been the same! My pain became progressively worse. I seemed to have pain everywhere from my neck down to my toes! The pain was excrutiating! I was unable to walk at all and my life as I thought I knew it became a living hell. I needed other people to help me on a daily basis even when they were unwilling to do so! I had no appetite; I couldn't sleep for more than 1 hour at night and that was in 15 min. intervals! I went to appointments lying down in the back of a cab or on a gurney! NO medicines, injections, therapy, diet or exercise helped. I even began to have severe colon and bladder spasms. I have been seen by approximately 10 different doctors in an attempt to get help me. I had temporary success for 6 weeks out of approximately 14 years of severe pain, and now I have severe heart pain and syncope in addition to everything else.
One thing good that has come out of it all! My faith in GOD has been strengthened even though family members walked away .,..... GOD stayed and helped me to get back on my feet ,.... I'm slow and unbalanced, but I can walk now,. I even look forward to another day. Without experiencing HIS comfort over the last 10 years - I KNOW I would probably have taken my life by now. Oh! I still have pain and I still can't sleep and have many other symptoms,. but I refuse to give in to the pain, regardless!
