ABOUT ME:

I began taking Forteo July 15, 2009. After four weeks I began having severe cramping pains in my right thigh, so much that it was difficult to walk. I continued the Forteo for two more weeks and the pain continued in the thigh and traveled down the calf. The doctor who prescribed the Forteo and my primary care doctor do not believe that the Forteo is causing the pain. A calciuim level test showed normal levels. An injection of steroids into my hip has not relieved the pain. Also, pain is not relieved by the Fentanyl AP 25 MG/HR patch I wear or hydrocodone tablets, which I take daily. It has only been five days since I stopped the Forteo but I wonder if this pain will ever lessen. I know I need to take Forteo as I have had five spontaneous compression fractures of the spine in the past three years but at present I am unable to do anything. Any responses will be very much appreciated.
