amitriptyline

I've been on 150 mg of amitriptyline for a few years now and have had a lot of success with it. I tried weening myself down this summer and began getting headaches more frequently...

But I have really bad dry skin problems and constipation which I believe are from the medication. What are some similar medications in the same class of drugs that I could try instead?

Sinus headahces

I've managed to get my migraines under control but now I am struggling with sinus headaches. I live in the mountains and the weather can change every hour. Over the counters for sinus pressure don't do anything and neither does imitrex. Is there any way I can relieve the pressure?

Stomach Ulcer

I have noticed blood in my stool for the past two days. This has never happened to me before so I am quite freaked out. I've been doing investigation online and I think that I can attribute my symptoms to a stomach ulcer.

The research I've found says that NSAID's can lead to ulcers. I used to take a lot of Imitrex and I still take Amitriptyline every night. I think that both of those medications are NSAID's (right?)

I am just...

wierd food craving

During the on set of a migraine I get the weirdest food cravings. I always want something sugary and sweet, or salami, or tons of bread. Actually I get really hungry for all of these things. I feel like most of them are cravings for migraine triggers - so that is weird!

Does this happen to anyone else?

There are other options

I really feel for everyone who comes to this site and share their frustrations about doctors and medications not working. I just want to share my recent experiences with anyone wondering about the alternatives to tradtional treatment.

I've been off of any medication for 3 months. No preventatives and no abortives. The past few months, I've felt better than I have in years. My migraines have decreased dramatically; I never have more than...
