ABOUT ME:

I have suffered my entire life with pelvic pain. Starting with cysts on my ovaries, then on to unexplained pain which was called pelvic inflammitory disease, but that is such a generic name for pain and always treated with antibiotics and never cured the pain. I had bouts of abdominal swelling for no known reason with cramps and constipation. I had multiple surgeries to relieve the pain, but it never changed the pain. In total I've had 24 surgeries, only 3 were not with in my abdomen. I joke with people, that all I have left that they can remove is a kidney and that's only because I have 2 of those. It took 18 years for a doctor to finally find interstitial cystitis, the bladder disease that plagued me for so long. Once that was discovered, I was devestated to know that I had a disease that had no known cause and no known cure. It ate at my nerves so badly that I ended up on mood stablelizers. Soon my bladder fell, then my rectum fell and I never stopped bleeding, so after 3 months the dr rechecked me to find the mesh he had used had eroded through the vaginal lining. So I went back into surgery for a repair, but the same was repeated and again, I did not stop bleeding. He tried to repair it once again, but with no success. The fourth surgery on the rectal mesh was to remove it all because the conclusion was that I was allergic to it. I finally healed and stopped bleeding, but continued to have pain at the mesh incision sight. Unfortunately, the mesh has eroded through again and I will have to have another surgery, the only way to remove it. But do I return to the same dr again? I'm so confused.
