hyperpigmentation

I am a 51 year old Latina woman. I have really bad hyperpigmentation on my feet, no where else thank God. Doctors have said that there's basically nothing that can be done. I've tried everything from over the counter fading creams to the very expensive prescription Tri-Luma cream. I have a hard time believing there's nothing that can be done with so many advances in modern medicine. Does anyone have any ideas?
