the last phase of my treatment

Since my last sharepost a lot has happened. after the 12 rounds of herceptin and taxol, which i had very good response to, i moved on to FEC every 3 weeks for 3 months. that went well also. no serious side effects i am happy to say. i had surgery October 31st to remove more tissue and nodes and to further clean a margin line. i also had the silicone implant on the right side removed. i won't be having reconstructive surgery again so it was a...

treatment success

well, i have finished the 12 rounds of herceptin and paxlitaxol and am glad to say the only reaction i had was loosing most of my hair. the rest i shaved. i have decided not to wear a wig. too hot...my feminity is not defined or embellished by my breasts or my hair. i carry my head high and am proud to be in this fight and surviving. after the 12th round of chemo my ultrasound came back and none of the 6 nodes that showed up positive in the...

this lack of energy

i used to be a very energetic woman. some might say i was an over achiever. so as one can imagine, i am going nuts with this low energy level. i know its not forever, but i want to do what i want to do now! i was never a nap taker. now its one or two a day. i am turning into a slug. i used to garden, i don't have one flower.i used to cook and i am good at it ( i use a Viking) but i cannot stand on my feet very long to start and finish one...

chemotherapy

i am on my 11th treatment with herceptin and taxol. i am having a lot of leg pain, especially in the evenings. has anyone had a similar experience? i am moving on to 12 rounds of 5FU, Epirubicin and Cytoxin. if you have had this treatment how did it effect you? i know everyone is different, i am interested in sharing this process as i go along and gaining insight from those who have been there.
