Second Elimination Diet

I've been going through the elimination diet and wanted to summarize my experience for you. I have been keeping a more or less detailed account of my journey on my blog, but thought it might help to condense it for anyone who may be interested in the elimination diet here.

I was going to wait until I was a little further along, but I thought it might be better to give you my story now as January is...

Window Sun Screening

I wanted to follow up on some earlier postings I had done and what path I have decided to try for my Migraines. Originally, I posted a question about what alterations/accommodations have you made to your car for your Migraines.

Some of the answers I received ultimately led me down the path of investigating having my car windows tinted (aka window sun-screening) so I posted to the forum asking for any ones knowledge...

Migraine Medication Change

Another appointment concluded.
Hands filled with many scripts.
New meds and old meds expectant to do the job.
Will this be the combo for me?

Taper off the old.
Known symptoms return.
Naked once more with one less drug.
Is this the right change for me?

Everyday a different adventure.
Another unprevented...

Elevator vs Stairs - Stackable Trigger Follow Up

I had asked for advice a while back on an issue I was having with a stackable Migraine trigger. I was having problems when taking the stairs at work. I prefer taking the stairs up to the 4th floor rather than the elevator since I don't get much exercise plus I like taking the stairs, but it only triggered my Migraines sometimes.

Teri gave me some questions to think about and Nancy some...

Teleconference: A Migraine Tool

The best way to help manage your Migraines is to utilize the tools you have available to you. Did you know that Megan Oltman hosts a monthly Teleconference with some well known or very knowledgeable people in the Migraine, health and related community fields? Megan started the informational Teleconferences earlier this year and has already hosted quite a few of these interactive calls. Have you registered for or attended any sessions?
Migraine Specialist - Next Step

I've been doing a lot of thinking about true Migraine Specialists lately. Not because I feel I need one at this time, but because we should always reevaluate our situations, keep all of our options open and because of something I'll mention shortly. I also believe in thinking of the next step we'll need to take if something should happen with where we're standing now. How many times have you heard someone say - my doctor is moving out of state...

Homemade Oversite

I need to be more careful when I am away from home. I recently realized that I have become more comfortable with some foods, especially homemade foods, when I really should not be.The reason for this? When I am at home, my foods are safe. The products are carefully screened at the supermarket so they do not contain my triggers. The problem with this is that when I am at other peoples houses and they offer me something to eat or drink, I don't...

No Trigger Today!

I had a food today that triggers me every time I eat it, but I feel wonderful! Ok, let me step back a little bit. It's normally a trigger food because of the way it's prepared and it's one of the all too irresistible type of foods that I've just recently learned to be able to turn away.I love chicken franchise. So how come I ate it if I can now pass it up? I was part of the planning committee for the end of season party for my son's sports award...

Stackable Trigger Confusion

The more I have learned about Migraines, in a layman's sense, the more I feel I don't know about them and need to learn additional information. It seems triggers are one of the big keys to Migraines and what you do with your triggers is one of the most important factors for you as triggers can be very individual. Right now, stackable triggers (podcast on triggers; transcript of podcast) are what is confusing me. Stackable triggers are triggers...
