Getting back in the land of the living.

Is it just me or do any of you ever feel like Ra has stolen time from your life? I do. I began college when I was 17 and I had to leave two semesters later because the pain from RA was just too severe for me to concentrate. Now here I am at 22, in remission, and ready to move forward with my life. I've been fighting this disease for about 8 years now, only a year in a half have I been diagnosed and treated. I...

Well, it'll be two years this year that I was diagnosed with RA. I've been on a constant roller coaster and now things are finally looking better. I just began Humira a month ago and immediately after injecting it the very next day I woke up with no morning stiffness. I didn't get my hopes up it would last but after a month later I feel the best I've felt in 8 years. I feel like crying when I think about it, it's like a...

Nervous about Humira

Is it just me or does anyone else here get nervous about starting a new RA medicine? I had such a bad reaction to methotrexate recently it kept me in bed for an entire week, not to mention an all night visit to the ER. I'm off the methotrexate now. I'm just taking plaquenil and arava right now. Tomorrow my Humira's coming in the mail. People say Humira is painful being injected for some people but I'm not worried...

Just putting it out there

Since being diagnosed with RA back in December I've felt a million different emotions and I've shook most of them off so far, thank goodness. But some of them seem to still linger. I'm not sure if I'll shake these off. Something I never really hear women or men with RA talk about-I feel so inadequate as a young woman. I'm trying to focus on getting my health better but its alot of competition out here as a young...

Well, tomorrow is my fourth rheumatology appointment. My rheumatologist is excellent and the nurses there are really great. Every time I go to see my rheumy he always keep saying the same thing over and over, "You should have been treated three or four years ago." He just shakes his head and always says the same thing. I'm wondering if he'll say the same thing tomorrow as I wonder about what tomorrows...

About 6 years ago the pain started as a slight pain in my thumb. It would come and go from time to time the first year. I was 15 then. Within six months my hands just ached and I went to the doctor and she told me to take ibuprofen. I took the ibuprofen a couple of times a week and it relieved the pain so I didn't think anymore about it. By the way, I also have hypothyroid disease so my...
