ABOUT ME:

Originally from Michigan, I moved to South Australia about 10yrs ago. My kids and family are in the USA. I've had breast cancer, and have lymphedema because of having my lymph nodes removed. Along with osteoarthritis I also have a few inter-related issues from diabetes, slow healing, lymphedema and a severe abscess that developed in my back (where I had scars from having had breast reconstruction) in March 2007. The abscess is healing very slowly... but it was 11cm deep (from my side to my spine) and is now quite shallow but there's a pocket of fluid underneath due to the lymphedema. I've changed my lifestyle a great deal and try to eat mostly low carb and walk daily for my health and have been doing this since October (the walks at any rate). I like to experiment with the effects of different foods on my BGLs and always drink two cups of green tea after every meal which also helps lower my BGLs.
