I was first diagnosed with JRA when I was 18 months old. Since then I've had a great quality of life, I had flares that lasted for about 5-6 months, then I would go into remission for as long as 4 years. Then a few months ago, I had another flare. I'm 20 now, and to me, it feels the same as every other flare that I've had, only two joints are affected, my left knee and my left jaw. My hands never really swell or ache. But my Rheumy is convinced that this is now adult RA and that I will not go back into remission. I'm still carrying a little bit of hope.PHOTOS:
