I am 39 and have had this since I was at least 13. Before my dx at 31 I thought all of my problems and actions were simply character flaws. I still can't excuse my actions because I'm BP. I do understand them now though. And I am able to recognize it when it rears it's ugly head... sometimes. That helps me deal with it to a degree. The meds, well...I'll take mania anyday over depression. The pdocs seem to know how to treat mania well through numbness, but the depression is another story. Unfortunately that's the side that I have the most experience with and it sux.PHOTOS:
