42 yr. old mother of 4 with very empty nest,I have a whole new set of challenges now that all of the kids are in college or the service..what to do now? I had no routine! NO purpose!! After 2 yr battle with severe depressive episodes I am finally stable again.I will compare it to learning to walk again. I was reminded of how easy it is to lose oneself when battling bipolar disorder..now for the first time in decades I've returned to weekly therapy,keeping a daily journal,exercise and volunteer work at a local animal shelter...most important I am learning to enjoy change,have found purpose ,,but remind myself daily to deal with my illness in a healthy way by trying to maintain and find solutions, doing weekly maintenance with my illness not waiting until I am in that dark abyss..glad to be back among the living once again.....PHOTOS:
