triptans and SSRI's

Hello, I picked up my prescription today and the pharmacist asked if my doctor knows that I am taking imitrex along with Lexapro. She says they interact. My doctor does know because she prescribed it. Is there any harm in taking an antidepressant and triptans?? I assume that I am not the only one taking them.Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Finally preventative

I finally saw a specialist yesterday and she recommends Nadolol (Beta-Blocker) and Limitrol (anti-depressant & anti-anxiety combo) at night and Lexapro (anti-depressant) in morning. I am not big on pills, so the two at night seem fine, but has anyone heard of taking two types of anti-depressants. I feel like I live a happy normal life besides having migraines about once a week. Any input would be greatly appreciated. ...

time for topamax??

I keep saying to myself: I will see what happens next month. Each month goes by and I still suffer from these migraines. Abortives work great and give relief fast but do I want to keep taking them so often?? My question is: Is topamax that bad ( I mean the side effects)?? Will I be able to continue going to the gym or will I be too tired for anything. I know everyone is different but on average how...

Sinus or Migraine

Everyone in my Family is getting over a cold. Now I have the symptoms (well at least a sore throat). I have pain on my left side like a migraine but it seems like it's sinus and congestion related. Don't know if I should treat it with Imitrex or decongestant. I have to be careful because cold medicine sometimes makes head pain worse if it's truly a migraine. Any tips would be appreciated.Laura

Husband doesn't understand

Hi, my husband thinks I am crazy and my migraines are brought on by my own compulsive thinking. I understand stress is a trigger, however my head pain is triggered by alot of other things. Is there anything on this site for him to read to help him understand. Maybe then I could get a little sympathy from him.
