I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder with psychotic features.
I am 39 years old and was diagnosed 11 years ago after 26 years of symptoms. I worked several years but the last two years I have been on disability because of instability and I am terrified of medication. I am utterly ashamed of being bipolar and it is a constant struggle to function with it.
